Your Data & Account Deletion
Last updated: 30 July 2026
A companion to the Privacy Policy: the specific record we keep, and the specific steps to change or destroy it. If you only want one thing from this page, it is section 3 — how to delete your account.
1. Everything stored about you, in full
This is the complete list of what an account can accumulate. Most players have only the first two rows.
| Record | Contains | Deleted when |
|---|---|---|
| Sign-in account | A user ID; for Google sign-in, your name and email; for guest sign-in, nothing but the ID; for phone sign-in, your verified number (held by Firebase Authentication) | You delete your account |
| Player card | Display name, username, optional profile photo, last-seen timestamp | You delete your account |
| Phone lookup entry | A SHA-256 hash of your number → your user ID. Not the number itself. | You remove your number in the app, or delete your account |
| Username claim | Your chosen handle, reserved to your user ID | You change it or delete your account |
| Friends and invites | The user IDs of players you added, and pending game invitations | You remove the friend, or delete your account |
| Direct messages | Short messages between you and a friend | You delete your account |
| Push tokens | An opaque device token per phone or tablet you signed in on | You sign out, disable notifications, or delete your account |
| Live room data | Seats, bids, cards played, scores, presence heartbeats, taunts | When the host closes that room or opens a new one |
| On-device only | Your own phone number, game settings, sound/language preferences, saved single-player game | You uninstall the app or clear its storage. This never reaches our servers. |
2. Changing things without deleting anything
- Username or display name — edit it from your profile on the home screen.
- Profile photo — replace or remove it from the same place.
- Phone number — remove it in Friends → my number. Your lookup hash is deleted, and contacts can no longer find you by number.
- Contacts access — revoke it in your phone's system settings. Nothing was stored, so there is nothing left behind.
- Notifications — turn them off in system settings, or sign out, and the device token is dropped.
- Friends — remove a friend in the app; the link is deleted on both sides.
3. Deleting your account and all your data
Request deletion by email.
- Write to privacy@playminus.com with the subject Delete my MINUS account.
- Send it from the email address on the account, or tell us the username you played under. We verify that the account is yours before deleting anything — that check is what stops someone else deleting your account.
- We remove your player card, username claim, phone lookup hash, friends, invites, messages and push tokens, and destroy your sign-in account. You get written confirmation when it is done.
Deleting the app from your phone does not delete your account, because the account is what carries your username and friends to your next device. Use the request above if you want it gone.
How long it takes. Deletions are actioned within 30 days and usually immediately. Encrypted backups are rotated out within 90 days. After that, nothing identifying you remains.
What survives, and why. Finished games that other players took part in keep an anonymous record of the result — a seat and a score with no name, username, photo or ID attached to it. It cannot be traced back to you, and it exists so that the other three players' own game history does not develop holes.
4. Getting a copy of your data
Write to privacy@playminus.com from your account's email address and ask for an export. We will send a machine-readable file of everything listed in section 1 within 30 days, at no charge.
5. Playing with no account at all
Single-player MINUS needs no sign-in and no connection. If you never open multiplayer, we hold nothing about you whatsoever — the game, your settings and your saved match live only on your phone.
